Big congratulations to Patrick Fileti for picking up Gold at Kinsale Sharks in both Best Direction and Best Documentary Short, and also getting Silver at the 1.4 Awards, all with his incredible passion project ‘Inferno’.
The film explores the people of Tultepec, Mexico – a town famous for its pyrotechnics industry. Every year, over 300 giant wooden bulls loaded with fireworks are set alight in the town square as an offering; it’s a celebration of explosives for their life-giving energy to a town that lives and dies molten in fire. Plunging head into the flames, Inferno honours the spirit and passion of Tultepec’s community in celebrating life and death.

We are delighted to announce that London-based Scott Carthy has joined our roster for representation in the UK.
Scott’s films sit in a space between heightened, beautiful visuals and raw emotions. He captures humanity at its most intimate, poetic and sometimes brutal. From exploring the political climate in modern-day Londonderry for The Face, to counterculture youth movements in Tokyo, his singular voice pierces through the artifice to find a deep and genuine understanding of his subjects and its people.

Off the back of their latest release, a genuine one-shot music video for Loyle Carner first single of 2020 ‘Yesterday’, The Coyle-Larner Brothers sat down with Creative Review to talk about their work to date, what it’s like working together as siblings and how theatre (and a dose of naivety) played a part in pulling off such a creatively ambitious one-shot film.

In 2002, Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia created 1% for the Planet and started a global movement. The idea was simple: because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources. They would do this by giving 1% of their sales to environmental organisations.
Spindle is committed to eliminating the negative environmental impact of our productions and is delighted to be joining 1% for the Planet to continue our mission of giving back to the planet and not taking away from it.

We are delighted to welcome filmmaker and photographer Molly Burdett to Spindle.
Molly tells soulful and emotionally honest stories across music videos, film and photography. Packed with meaning and symbolism, her striking visuals cut straight to the heart. Her ongoing collaboration with burgeoning London superstar Arlo Parks has created a new soulful, delicate aesthetic across their five music videos together. Their recent film ‘Black Dog’, which explores themes of togetherness and mental health, has just been nominated at the UKMVA’s.
We’re so happy to showcase her unique voice to artists, agencies and brands alike.
